Last year I was thinking about skins as cosmologies and topographical maps. My body of work was evidence of that research and process of discovery. Now I have gravitated into a place where I am reading Post Colonial theory and devouring everything written on artists like Brian Jungen, Shahzia Sikander, and others who have a similar story to tell. I have been doing so in an attempt put sense into my genetic history of transgression and oppression, and what it is to be Native American and Immigrant American. Mostly, I am interested in transition and loss.

In staying in the present, I am attempting to navigate the past, or my reflection and honoring of the loss that has transpired, in order to make something ordinary perhaps contain within it some sort of future and revolutionary form.
